Wellington, August 7. Mr; George Hunter, an old settler and formerly,'member for Wellington City, died last night, aged 59 years. SirH. Robinson has received intimation of his appointment to the Government of the Cape. He will leave almost immediately via Australia and England. Lady Robinson' goes to Australia this week to see her daughter there. Master Robinson goes Home in the Raleigh. Sir Arthur Gordon succeeds as Governor of New Zealand, but Sir Hercules will not await his arrival, which is not likely to take place for some time. Dunedin, August 7. Tho inquest on the murdered woman Young was resumed on Saturday, and adjourned till Wednesday. Two Chinamen have been arrested. In the hut of one was found a pair of newly washed rouscrs, with blood spots on them.
