' The Cliairmai stated that in the case of Mr Armstrong,'regarding the portion of his land .requtyid .for the formation, of Balguerie street, it was not possible for him to make the land over, as although it had been surveyed, the Crown 'Grant had not been given to Mr Armstrong; consequently, although it wae no fault of that gefitleman'e, he could not make it over to the Board. Mr Williams thought it would be beet to apply to the Chief Engineer to place the land on the map., .- The Chairman stated that he believed there would be.no difficulty in getting the land placed on the map. Mr Gebbie suggested that the Chairman be empowered to take the steps necessary for the transaction of: the matter. Mr Williams thought that if Mr Arm strong had owned the land so long, and not received the 5 Crown Grant, it could j hardly be hie fault. Mr Gebbie proposed—That the Government be written to, asking them to hand over the balance of the impounded Land Fund at once. Seconded by Mr Barker.—Carried. From Selwyn County Council in reply to letter re Pound Boards, and saying that the matter would be attended to at once. From Collector of Customs, stating that suiiiß to the amount of £150 5s had been JAUUcutta Council's credit. From Waimate. County Council, stating that they were willing to join in getting a registration of brand. . . . ; From Mr Marsh, acknowledging receipt of letter, and stating that the Board had no knowledge of the reauoc of the increase in. the Hospital and charitable aid charges, and suggesting that the I Colonial Secretary.be written to on the I matter..
