STOCK REPORT.

There was a good muster of the trade at Addington on Wednesday, and competition was keen throughout the sale. The stock yarded comprised 5724 sheep 214 cattle, and 16*1 pigs. Sheep.—Tbe bulk: of the Bheep yarded were of An excellent stamp for the butchers, who had much stronger conipe ""tition than usual from graziers, and the result was a decided advance in price. ' One grazier alone purchased over 2000 sheep. Fat sheep realised as high as 17s 3d each, and we quote mutton at 3d per lb. Stores were in good demand at increased rates. Cattle.—The greater portion of the • cattle 3 r arded were>of fair trade quality, and fat stock sold freely. Prime beef realised from 22s Gd to 25s per 1001b. Stores were in short supply and sold well. Pigs,—The pigs yarded were of inferior quality, and prices displayed a downward tendency. CORN EXCHANGE REPORT. The following is the report for the week ending Friday, July 15 :— Another week of extreme quietness in the tfrain trade has to be chronicled. Wheat.—Seed wheat, 4s 3d to 4s 6d per bushel ; second quality, 3s 2d to 3s 4d ; chick wheit, ls 9d to 2s 4d per bushel. Oats.—Good plump milling samples will meet with buyers at from 1b 5d to Is 6d per bushel. Feed parcels ls 3d to ls 4d. Inferior feed quality ls to Is 2d per bushel. Potatoes.—Orders tre coming to hand rather more freely, but values are unchanged ; last week's quotations must be repeated, 22s Gd to 25s per ton, sacks extra ; for forward delivery, 35s to 37s 6d per ton sacks extra. Grass Seed.—There ia no enquiry at present; good w«II cleaned is worth 2s Gd to 2s lOd per bu*hel. Cheese and Butter.—4d to for the former; 9d to 9£d for the latter.
