To the Editor of the Akaroa Mail. ,1 $!R,;j-I write to contradict ft statement made to the Akaroa and Wainui Road Board by their Clerk. ~ . ~,-. ...
I undertook to repair a part of the Grehan Valley road for the email sum of £3 10a ac it was impossible to get through it. The Clerk was to draw up a specification, and I was to do the work a{ once. I have never seen the Clerk ■ititoe, nor heard anything of it, until I saw the statement in your Inst issue, that I was unwilling to do tho work. I cannot : understand this etfltement.:. I put the matter before the public hoping they will look to it at once, as the road is impassable to a pedestrian. Yours &c. r «<■ < '■■ ■■:■-'■■-."■••• ■'-'- • .! Greehan Valley.
