The resolution in favor of prevention of ay trading which was discussed
in the House of Commons to-day was strongly opposed by Sir Wm. Vernon Harcourt, Home Secretary. The motion was, however, agreed to by the House. J t Consols, 98§. New Zealand securities unchanged. The Orient Company's s.s. Chiniborazo sailed from Plymouth to-day for Australia. The cricket match, Australians v. Eighteen of Northampton, concluded to-day, and resulted in another (the tenth) victory for the Australians by eight wickets. The Eighteen in the second innings were all disposed of for 48 runs. Palmar took eight and Spofforth seven wickets in this innings. The Australians then required only 49 runs to win, and these they made with the loss of only two wickets. . Buenos Ayres, June 26. Peace negotiations were opened to-day between the authorities of this city and the insurgents, with a view to the settlement of the difficulties which brought about the rebellion. June 27. The Peace negotiations have failed, and fighting between the insurgents and the National Guard has been renewed to-day. Berlin, June 27. It has been announced that the Porte has sent a circular note to the Great Powers, seating that the European Conference now assembled here has only the the right to mediate for a settlement of the disputes between Albania and Montenegro for the adjustment of the TurkoGreek frontier question, but has no right to decide what course Turkey should pursue in the settlement of these difficulties.
