The barque iEthelred, Cnptnin Dunn, tirrived from London on Wednesdaj morning, with 17 steerage passengers and 1600 tone general cargo. The New Zealand Shipping Company are her agents. .She was speedily cleared by the Health Officer, all being well on hoard. The iEtliehed is a handsome iron barque, three _years old, owned by Meters White, Foreman and Co., of Liverpool, and is now on her third vogage, the two previous voyages having been made to Australian ports, for which trade she was built. Her passage has occupied 88 days from London, and 82 days from land to land. The weather experienced during the early part of the passage was line, but the latter portion was stormy, especially from the Crozets to. the Snare.-. The passengers appear to have been very comfortable indeed aboard, and Cnptnin Dunn has been extremely kind to all. That this kindnees was much appreciated is evident, from the vary feelingly wonted testimonial presented to him at the termination of the passage. The H.s. Norfolk w;is moored alongside the No. 4 wharf, Lyttelton, at 10 p.m. on Tuesduy. Captain M'Lellan, the Ilarbormaeter brought the big steamer up the harbor, slewed her, and made her fast in a most"creditable manner and without carrying away a rope yarn. The steamer was towed up by the p.s. Lyttelton and one of the hopper barges, her immense propeller made her a very heavy tow. The Norfolk was busy discharging cargo and coaling on Wednesday. Her steerage. pa»senger& were brought over from the quarantine station that day by the steam launch Lyttelton. The Norfolk left for Wellington and Sydney at 9 p.m. yesterday.
