Joneph MLean, captiin of the e.s. Akaroa, wee charged with selling liquor at Pigeon Bay without a license. Mr J. D. Garwood appeared ftR agent The Bench ruling that Mr M'Lean must appear personally* the case was remanded till Tuesday, May 18. Civil Case. F. Lelievre v. Funnel and Ciurragh.— Claim £10, for removal of fence. Mr Nalder appeared for plaintiff. Evidence on both Bides was received as to whether the fence was on plaintiff's property or on the road, and it being proved that in either case it was against the inatTUCtionp contained in the specifications for the contractors to remove any material without permission from the officer in charge of the works, which permission had not been given, the Bench gave judgment for the defendants to pay at the rate of £1 15« per chain for such of the fence as had been removed, with the option of replacing the same, and costp, with solicitors fee. ' The Court then adjourned.
