The aspect of the grain market during the week has presented much the sa.no features as the preceding. The business transacted has not been of an extensive character, and tha feeling at the moment is one of heaviness. The quantity coming forward by rail sill continues large, and the ships now load ng have been unequal to the work of keeping tho line clear, and considerable quantities have had to be sent to store in Port.

Oats.—-Large parcels of all classes of oats have been offered within the last few • days without leading to business, sellers not feeling disposed to iiccopt ruling ipriees. Feed quality are quoted here at Is 3d to Is (3d ; miliiug, Is 6d, but tho de mand is wholly confined to purchases tor local wants.

Barley continues depressed, and the quantity seeking an outlet large. Flour.—Midurs quote Hour at the old rates of £10 to £11 according to brand.

Potatoes.—Tho market remains about the same, and transactions have not yet been sulKcienty numerous to exactly lix rates. Prices range from 27~ 6.1 to 30=s. Grass Seed.—Fair sales of merchant's parcels of ryegrass are reported lately, but the market raoes for seed are unuuereu. Quotations range between 2s and 2s bd. Cocksfoot is without enquiry, and dealers will only touch it at low rates. Recent advices from Australia afford little hope of relief from that quarter. Stocks of both kinds of New Zealand seed are reported heavy in these markets, with a moat limited enquiry. Dairy Produce.—Cheese is quoted at 4.v 1 to o 1, with only a moderate demand. Butter, 8d to B£d.
