Waitaki arrived here from vDunedin on Tuesday laßt, the -2nd inst. -She left Port Chalmera on Monday at 3 p.m., reached the Heads at 7.35 a.m., and made fast to the wharf at 7.50. She experienced strong head winds and a heavy sea during the passage. She left for Lyttelton the same day at 10.30 a.m. The Government steamer Hinemoa, with

She sailed again for Wellington -diroet the same afternoon at 2 p.m. The s.s. Wellington left Wellington on March 3, at 1 p.m., reached Lyttelton on Thursday, March 4, at 6 a.m., left Lyttelton at 2.30 p.m. the same day, and arrived at the Heads last night at 6.55, made fast to the wharf at 7.15, sailed for Dunedin at 8 p.m. Experienced calm weather and favorable wind from Wellington to Lyttel- _.. ton, with a head sea from that port here.
