HOTEL AT PIGEON BAY.
To the Editor of the Akaroa Mail.
Sir, —Can you inform me whose fault it may be, or to what cause may be assigned the fact of the closing of an accommodation house at Pigeon Bay. Surely such a locality as the one in question—a place visited three times weekly by a steamer from Lyttelton, and the same number of times by a coach from Akaroa, should be in a position to offer both rest and refreshment to travellers. It may be urged that both one and the other may be obtained on the steamer, but I know of several cases where people ap so upset by the smell always to be Jjfnnd on the steamers, and by the motion of the sea, as to be quite unable to look at, let alone taste, any food, and I must say I think it a great injustice to the travelling public not to be able to obtain any accommodation whatever at such a place as the one in question.
Trusting you will kindly give your attention to this matter, I am
Yours, &c,
A TRAVELLER.
