(Reuters Telegrams.) [Special to Mail.] London, Feb. 6. The iron trade has become active. Galvanized iron is quoted at £23 10s. It has been mutually determined to suspend operations in the war between Chili and Peru till next autumn. Bombay, Feb 8. Islam Khan has been founded (?) in a tribal quarrel and rled to Khandabar. (_ROM THE LYTTELTON TIMES.) London, Feb. 6. In the House of Commons notice has been given of an amendment to the Address in Reply, based on the neglect of Irish affairs. Amendment of the land laws will he demanded. New York, Feb. 4. A separate Irish Relief Fund has been opened by the New York Herald, the firm, itself subscribing one hundred thousand dollars. Calcutta, Feb. 4. General Roberts telegraphs that only those who attacked the British Residency, and committed murder, have been executed. [Argus' Special.] London, Feb. 5. * The Queen's Speech at the opening of Parliament to-day, indicated that it was proposed to introduce during next session measures to secure the reform of the land laws in Ireland, to amend the law relating to bankrupty and lunacy, to secure the codification of the criminal laws, and to idemnify the Irish Church Fund for sums voted for the relief of the distress of that country. Referring to the Treaty of Berlin, the Speech points out that there is yet much to be done before order is restored in Turkey. Her Majesty is made to express a hope that the Confederation of the South African Colonies will prove a success ; and, in reference to the war in Afghanistan, intimates that terms of peace have been submitted by which the British lines shall be extended to Gundamak, and her Majesty's Ministers trust that friendly relations may soon prevail between Great Britain and the tribes of Afghanistan.
