FBOM THE LYTTELTON TIMES.

Christchurch, Friday Evening. GRAIN AND PRODUCE.

The business of the week has been on the same restricted scale as the previous one. As we write we are glad to say tho weather has apparently taken up, find it is hoped that harvest operations will be carried on without further anxiety from the above cause. Wheat.—There is no change in price, 'the sales of old being; very trifling indeed, at 4s 9d to ss.

Oats.—The market is unaltered, and rates remain at la 9d to Is lid. The new crop will soon be in hand, and a few entail sales are reported at Is 8d to Iβ 9d for early delivery. Prices, however, for the new grain are not yet settled, and until the feeling of buyers and sellers is more pronounced, rates are only approximate. Floor as quoted at £13 for trade parcels. Grass Seod.—There is not much to report in iye grass. Buyers are less desirous of taking eeed, and best samples are not now worth more than 2s 9d to 2s 10d ; 2s 6d to 2a 9d is about the value of good average seed.

Batter, M to 6|d; cheese, Sd to 6d; hams and bacon, lOd in cloth.
