THE BAZAAR.
A bazaar in aid of the building fund of the Catholic Clum-h look place in the Town Ball. The building was tastefully decorated, and with the display of various articles of an ornmental character presented quite a gay appearance. The following ladies presided over the various stalls— Mesdames Loughnan, Citron and Wiggins ; Mdlle.de Malmancbe, the Misses Cull'en and Diteiy. The refreshment table was under the rhnrge of Mrs Brough, Mrs . . Kenny, and Mrs Brown, while a number of jounger ladies took charge of the Christ- . mas trees, acted as peripatetic vendors and tiniversal to Pitch gatherr ' mgsi romdallingofE forVant of canvassers. ' The attendance was of course very unfavorably; influenced by the wretched weather, but under the circumstances: we think the promoters are to be congratulated on the issue of the venture. We understand that the receipts for 1 he two days amounted to something over £80. The proceedings were enlivened from time to time by some music,"both vocal and instrumental.- Mr Darby and another gentleman, whose
name we did not catch, , gave several songs, a choir of young ladies, under the direction - of' Mdlle'. de Maluiaholie, rendered some choruses in a very pleasing manner. The bazaar was'kept open during Tuesday •and.Wednesday, and late on the .evening of. the;'second, day. Mr. C. W. Bridge jrhonivted' , the stage and proceeded to'dis'pdso 61 -some , ; of -\ the:' f 'inore' perishable •arti^le'S-h)''auction, 'these proceedings causing considerable amus-einent. ■' By desire of the Committee. Mr, .Bridge announced that the bazaar would be ireopened on New Year's Day. j
