The total reserve in notes and bullion in the Bank of England is £16,625,000.
At the wool sales to-day 8000 bales were catalogued. The tone of the market is All descriptitns of foreign purchases continue limited. Scoured wools are higher.
Several ■persons have been arrested in Ireland, including a barrister and an exFenian convict in Dublin, and the proprietor of the National newspaper in Mayo. There is great excitement throughout Ireland, in consequence of the action oi the authorities. Farther warrants have been issued for the arrest of prominent agitators.
Calcutta, Nov. 20,
General Roberts is taking precautionary measures to prevent an outbreak of Afghans. Five regiments arrived from Turkestan have been disbanded at Cabul, and it is expected that others will follow.
