MATTERS POLITICAL.
To the Editor of :fa;'£ti(riva:Mttil,
Sir,—" Elector ": must; be Very; verdant, or perhaps thinks his" fellow-elector's;are, when-he tries his sophisfrY to. cqnvipce t vs that to reduce W .JViotfJgoniery 1 -from-an; independent me'mßer to'-aldfeJega'td, l (which,; had the was mount to, we. were; Bhowing our cpnfictencej in him. I am afraid." Elector" is hoi such; a thorough Mpntgomeryite as he, wiehes us to believe, or he would ■- not quote 'jnoun4 tains out of mole hills; plot to unseat out member, and the chartering of the which last act I endorse, as it the Wainui electors to record their opinions. And I do-not agree with ",Elector," whose sensibilities .appear tfi, haye been oflEended at the conduct of those who took part at the meeting, for, to my mind it simply shewed the annoyance the whole of the electors felt by ; ' being forced to protect their absent member. ,
In conclusion, Sir, " Elector's " is a very lame critique with reference to the amendment and if it pleases him, we will call it a counter resolution;—-Yours, &c.,';;" '
A MONTG-O.MEBYITE. i
