Wbllingtow, Oct. 14. At eleven o'clock • last night ,- ;the jury found a verdict of " Guilty of a common assault" against all the natives, who were arrested, at Gisborne except Hone Paki Paki, who was released"i;his' morning. The Crown Prosecutor stated that the Crown would agree to the prisoners being, bound over to keep the peace, and We Peri would become, surety for them. His Honor said he must consider the matter as only, a breach otthe_peace,i^nd he was prepared to adopt the course re-Crown-Prosecutor. He then sentenced the prisoners to one day's imprisonment, commencing from the-opening k)f tile sittings} and to enter into their~own recognisance for iBIOO and One'surety of >05O ; torkeep the peacefor towards, the prosecutors, jh jthisfcase. > ; , * .y.n:u:'A -,:>:'t fr:;i/,;;o:HuNBDIN, ; Oct.,I^.
