STUD HORSE PARADE.

A parade of horses travelling the Akaroa district took place at the paddock adjoining Mr O'Reilly's yards, on Wednesday afternoon. The following horses put in an appearance:— ■■- - ; .. ~ THOROUGHBREDS. i Mr Shadbolt's Eclat „ Phillips' Young Diomedes „ Duxbury's Pariah '"" " ' DRAUGHT HORSES™ '"}.. \ \ Mr Kerridge's Suffolk Traveller \ „ Christison's Black Douglas „ Thompson's Scottish Chief - COACHING STALLION AND ROADSTER. Mr Olphert's Te Whiti Of the thoroughbred stock there was< ho doubt that Mr Shadbolt's horse waß facile princeps. Young Diomedes is a black horse,- showing great action and fire. Mr JDuxbury'3 colt Pariah has enough-good points to secure a position of "highly commended," but was sadly out of condition. [ In the draught stock* the .opinions of good judges were pretty equally divided. Suffolk Traveller is a fine powerful chestnut, with any amount of muscle. Black Douglas is also a Clydesdale;, but shows something of the Suffolk Punch in his breeding. He appears to have a considerable amount of pluck and spirit in him. Scottish Chief is a dark bay, and possesses an immense display Of bone and - power; Mr Olphert's chestnut was in. Splendid cont dition. He is a fine "stamp of a buggy or trap horse, or roadster, and should be capable of producing stock very suitable to the requirements of the Peninsula.
