[Special to the Mail.] Melbourne, Sept. 1. The Legislative Council will probably adjourn on the 11th inst., to enable Ministers to visit the Sydney Exhibition. Lord Normanby, Sir William Jervoise and. Governor Weld are going to Sydney. Arrived—City of Sydney, from Auckland. Brisbane, Sept. 1. Arrived—Torres Straits Mail Steamer Normanby at Cooktown. News unimportant. The floods here are subsiding.
