He will retain his full rank. The latest news from the Cape states that Sir Garnet Wolseley armed at Korke's Drift on August 3, joining the second column, under Colonel Baker. The first column in command of Colonel Russel had previously advanced. Both forces were to rendezvous at Magintum. King Cetewayo had not surrendered, and he was at a military kraal north of the Black Umvolosi River with only a small following.
