FROM THE LYTTELTON TIMES. Christchurch, Thursday Evening. GRAIN AND PRODUCE. "Wheat,—Best quality finds ready buyers at3slodto 3s lid,-other kinds 3s 8d to 3s 9d. Oats.—The enquiry for oats has not varied since our last report, either in price or demand. Barley remains about the -6ame —5s 6d. to 6s. Some of the brewers are in the -market, and prices keep steady. Potatoes show no alteration, 60s to 70s "being the rates. "■ 'Grass Seed.—Notwithstanding the near approach of the sowing season, grass seed does not show the slightest tendency to advance in price. In addition to the hardness of the times curtailing the acreage to be sown, the quality in the hands of the growers seeking an outlet operates against arise. The quotations given last week may be repeated, but in a forced sale a concession would have to be made, or rates stated. 4s 3d to 4s 6d is tne nominal figure. Dairy produce—Butter, 9d ; cheese, 6d to 6£d; hams and bacon,'in - cloth, BJd.
