GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS.
To the Editor of the Akaroa Mail.
Sxe, Can you tell me what has become of the suggestion made some months ago that the schools in the bays about Akaroa should be put under the supervision of
the head master of the Akaroa Borough" School ? Had it bse'h adopted, the smaller schools would have had some assistance during the long period that the Akaroa School has been closad. Whether the school is closed or open, the Board has to pay the teachers, so I do not see why they should not have something to do. It would be worth while for the committees round the harbor to represent tbe matter to the Board. Assistance for a week at one small school and a week at another, and so on, would surely be a great help to the teachers in the small schools who are struggling along by themselves. Hoping that this matter will be taken up, I am, &c, A. B. C.
