THE MAIL.
To the Editor of the Aharoa Mail.
Sir, —I have nlways understood ttyat a contract to carry the mail implied that St* was to-be carried in spite of. all ordinary difficulties. There is no seriouß .obstacle, in the way of carrying the Christchurch mail through. " True there 5 is a little water, but there are also boats. ." The water! carriage would not occupy more than; one hour. Drivers generally feela "professional pride in conveying a mail af; all, riskst In the case complained of it cannot be Baid that either risk or professional pride has" been much troubled. !
