AKAROA RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

Tuesday, May 20. (Before H. H. Fenton, Esq., J.P.) BREACH OF REGISTRATION ACT. George Lamb was charged, on tho information of Mr J. Aylmer, as registration officer, with a breach of the above Act. The offence consisted in having buried a child, the death of which had not been registered. The act appeared to have arisen solely from inadvertence, and the case was dismissed with a caution. (Before Justin Aylmer, Esq., R.M.) BREACH OF BOROUGH BY-LAWS. James Dalglish and Etienne Lelievre were charged with committing a breach of the By-laws of the Borough of Akaroa by driving cattle through the streets during prohibited hourh. These being the first informations laid ' under these by-laws, the cases were dismissed with a caution. Civil Case. W. Kenny applied for a re-hearing of

the case Callaghan v. Kenny, adjudicated on last Court day, on the ground that he was in a position to produce further material evidence. The application was granted. The Court then adjourned.
