Potatoes.—The demand at present is purely local; purchases are made from hand to mouth. Small parcels have been sold at from £5 to £6 a ton. .; ~ Grass Seed.—A good many samples have come forward, and as a rule rye-grass seed is light this yeat, and not equal to last year's productions. Extreme rates are looked for first class samples ; sales have been made at 5s 6d to 6s 6d. Cocksfoot is not much in demand; prices may be quoted at from 6£d to 7d per lb. , ' s * Cheese and Butter.—For the former 6Jd to 7d, and lid for the latter.

Messrs Wilkin iand Co. report; —Wool— At our auction on Tuesday, 412 bales were sold. There was a fair attendance of buyers, and, considering the unsettled state of the markets^the prices obtained were good. Cross-bred, to B£d per lb ; merino to 9d per lb ; pieces to sfd per lb ; locks to 3£d per lb ; diggings l|d per lb. Sheepskins—Our catalogue to-rlay consisted of 2543 ekina. There was a full attendance of buyers, and biddings were spirited, as follows :—Cross-breds, 3s 4d to 6s 2d each ; do, small and inferior, 2s to 3s 4d each ; merino, 3'e 2d to 5s each ; do, small and inferior, Is lOd to 3s 2d each. Tallow—There was a fair supply of rough fat to hand, which was all sold. Best cleartfwell saved, 2d to 2|d per lb ; second quality, i£d to 2d per lb ; inferior and heated, £d to l£d per lb.
