COMMERCIAL.

Mr C. W. Bridge reports holding a sale of stock at the Head of the Bay, on Friday last, when 150 cattle were yarded. The following prices were realized :— Working bullocks, good, £24 per pair ; medium, from £15 to £19 ; good milch cows, £8 ; medium do, £5 to £6. This class of stock was very slow of sale. Two-yi-old steersand heifers, £5 ; yearlings, £2 10a; calves, superior, £1 14s; do, medium, £1 Bs. Fat sheep, 9s 6d. There was a large attendance, but the present unsettled state of the weather made prices rule iow.

Messrs J. T. Ford and Co. held an extensive sale of cattle, sheep, &c, at Mr Shadbolt'syards, Head of the Bay,on Friday last. The sale was well attended. About 100 head of cattle, 1000 sheep, together with pigs and implements were offered. With the exception of one lot of lambs everything was cleared. Prices were as foli,,:—22 ws calves at £3 ss; 17 yearlings, £3 12s; 6 two-year-olds, £6 10s; 7 dry cows, £4155; 6 fat sfeers, £8 ; 2 workers, £9 each ;32 store cows, £4 15s; milch cows, £11 to £12 each. Several single lots at average quotations. Sheep sold as follows:—Store ewes," 4s 9d each; fat sheep (not heavy weights), 7s. The lambs were bought in. Considering the scarcity of feed, and that harvest operations were in fuil swing, the result of the sale may ■be considered a success. All attending the *a' : e were most hospitably entertained by lirShadbolt.
