Halkett ' Selwyn Kyle ■ ' Springston Lakeside Waiknku Little Akaloa Weeden , \ Mount Somers \ Having failed to elect Committees at the a'nnnal meeting: held on Jan. 27. the Board, in pursuance of the powers in that behalf conferred by the "Education Act. 1876," section 66, hereby directs that a PUBLIC MEETING of the Householders in every anch district be held on MONDAY, the 24th day. of February, pne thousand ei>ht hundred and seventy-nine, at eiffht o'clock in the eveninsr, for the election in each district of Seven Householders (section 64) to form the Committee for such district for the year ending with the fourth Monday in January next year.The place of meeting shall be the schoolhouse in-each district, and this is understood to mean the main aehoolhonse in any district which has more that one school. The Board further directs that the first meeting of each School Committee be held in the place appointed for the election, and immediately after the election upon the same evening , ., The' Board requests the Chairman of each public meeting to mnke to the Board immediately, after the election a return of the names of the seven householders elected to form the Committee, and recommends that each Chairman of Committee report his own election as soon as possible. *■■ J.V.
