"LOPPING" TREES.
To the Editor, of the Akaroa Mail.
Sib, — Would you kindly permit me, through your columns, to draw attention to the necessity that exists of "lopping" some of-the trees that grow along-the Beach road and other parts of - tha .town. During the high winds that prevailed on Thursday, Jan. ,30, and',following days, it was positively .dangerous to walk- along the road named, especially during the night'of Thursday, .as the'trees' called " The willows " and others in ,the!/yicLtuty seemed likely at any moment to be uprooted or otherwise broken, thereby endangering the life or limb of the wayfarer. . , ... I-think if the-attention of owners of trees such;as I have described was called to the necessity .of reducing their stature, libelieve immediately comply. Otherwise,,it would,be the duty of the Borough police authorities to them to.do so. - . * Yours, &c, ,i .;:^.^.::_i.. -..* =,„-;.:. iasr . ~ .Eg©. Akaroa,- Feb; 3-
