The trial of the Glasgow Bank |Dir.ectors still continues. The case for the prosecution closed to-day, The charges of theft and embezzlement have been abandoned.

The fortress* of Kalat-i-Ghilaai, the jonly important stronghold between Can--dahar and Ghuznee, has been occupied tj the British. The Afghan garrison qretired without making any resistance. Several other unimportant places have also been occupied.
The wheat afloat amounts t01,367,000 quarters. .
