FKOJf THE lA'TTErVTON TIMES. Christchurch, Friday Evening. GRAIN AND PRODUCE. Transactions in the grain market during the week, although not extensive, confirm tlie better feeling noted in our last report. The enquiry for most lines has been maintained, though prices have not been affected. Wheat continues unaltered at 3s ;9d to 4s. Oats.—The demand is only for trade requirements and is fully met by the small parcels offering. Values remain as before at 3s 10d to 4s, with no appearance of fluctuation. Flour hay seen the usual trade business, at last rates £9 to £10, according to brand, and the same quotations have been accepted for export parcels, f.o.b. Bran and sharps are in good request. Potatoes.—Old have lately been asked for in small lots. In addition to the town enquiry there have been several orders for station-supplies for shearing consumption. As the business altogether, however, is so trifling the matter is scarcely worth mentioning, except for the extreme prices <that have had to be paid, viz., £7 to £9. Grass Seed. —A few samples of this season's growth of iyegrass taken from the stack have been offered, but we have not heard of any positive transactions, sellers rather holding off until the market is more settled. Dairy Produce. —Butter and cheese are •quoted at 8d and 6d to 6£d respectively ; liams and bacon in cloth, 7£d to Sd.
