London, Dec 19. Lord Beaconsficld, in replying to a ■deputation of Englishmen from California, said that by the Berlin Treaty peace was best obtainable, although there might be persons who considered its execution inadvisable. Nevertheless, the Signatory Powers have determined to see it executed. He declared that Cyprus as a station was not inferior to Malta.
