"PURSUANT to •< The Canterbury _1 Roads Ordinance, 1872," and " The Regulation of Local Elections Act, 1876," I, John Barwick, Returning Officer for the Akaroa and Wainui Road District, hereby give notice that an ELECTION of TWO Members in the room of John Duxbury and Cole M'Donald, who retire in terms of the above ordinance, will be held at the office of the said Board, Duvauchelle's Bay, on SATURDAY, the 4th day of January next. The NOMINATION of Candidates, which must be in the form in the second schedule to the above Act, Avill take place at the said Road Board Office, at noon, on THURSDAY, the 20th instant, and the POLL (if necessary) will be taken at the said office on Saturday, the-lth day <d January, 1879, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Nomination Forms may be obtained at the office of the Akaroa Mail, or from the undersigned, at the Road Board OHieo.
