BEING relieved from the arduous duties of a councillor, I (that is, what is left of me) shall naw be at liberty to devote more time to -my business and the wants of my patrons. None but those who have "felt it can realise the intense feeling of relief that follows the release from all the responsibilities of a councillor, especially in an important city or town like Akaroa, and where so much surplus steam (and "you're another") is flying about; no doubt would be much worse where the mayor and council are not up to the rules of law and order. lam thankful to say my appetite has improved'already, and I expect to be quite restored in a few weeks. I intend to let my customers reap; some of the ■ benefits resulting from the nibbles I have made during my term of office, by making Immense Reductions in the prices of my goods. I shall now have time to make a thorough overhaul of my stock, and if J can give anything away, of course I shall do so; in any case, those who want bargains had better come before they are all gone. I have a large assortment of Files on hand, especially suitable for schoolmasters, B.A's, or in fact anyone doing a large trade in bills. Also, a nice assortment of Jewelry, suitable for presents to sweethearts, &c. My stock of Fireworks and Chinese Crackers are not to be beaten in Akaroa either for noise or price. I reckon I have about 6,450 yards of Panel-hangings, from 4d to 4s per piece. Sheep-shearing requisites of all kinds Oil hand, and whitewash in any quantity.
