TO STAND THIS SEASON, The Draught Entire Horse Maori Chief. MAORI CHIEF is a bay horse with black points, rising 6 years old, 16|- hands high, good temper, sound constitution, and a sure foalgetter. MAORI CHIEF was bred by Mr E. J, Joblin, his sire is Lord Glasgow, a well known horse, who took first prizes repeatedly at the Canterbury P. & A. Association's Shows. His dam was bred by the late W. Thompson, Esq., formely Provincial Auditor, and was by King Fergus, out of a pure Clyesdale mare, that Mr Thompson imported from Scotland. He will Travel from Little River along the Harbor to Wainui, returning to the Head of the Bay ; from thence to Akaroa-, and back to Little River. Terms —£2 2s per mare, payable at end of the season. LEONARDS will TRAVEL lO the following districts :—HeadjK the Bay and Gebbie's Bay, Mondays aha Tuesdays, Green Park and Lincoln on Wednesdays, at Home on Thursday night, and at Little River and Home on Friday until Monday morning. ST. LEONARDS will travel as far as Mr Coop's Saw-mills, Little River, where good paddock accommodation will be provided for mares at a nominal charge. Every care taken, but no responsibility. A VALUABLE DISCOVERY HAS just been made, and one likely to cause quite a revolution in the future welfare of the people of Akaroa, and add materially to their comfort, and in some measure make amends for the failure of the .Akaroa Railway Bill. We live as it were isolated from the rest of the world, and are debarred from enjoying many of the pleasures and privileges which are common to them ; therefore any discovery calculated to improve the minds of the people, or add in any way to the instruction or amusement of the young, no matter by whom the discovery is made, it is the duty of that individual to make it known without a moment's delay. Be it therefore known to the inhabitants of Akaroa and the surrounding districts, that the undersigned has just discovered that he is enabled to offer them a 141b Tin of Red or White Lead for the remarkably small sum of 5s 6d. Also, that it is of the utmost importance that his large and miscellaneous stock of useful and ornamental goods should be cleared out as quick as possible ; for it is a well-known fact that when some classes of goods are kept too long on the shelves, they (like ourselves) get faded, and consequently deteriorated in value.
