LE BON'S BAY TRACK.

To the Editor of the Akaroa Mail,

Sib,-—ln reference to a letter which appeared in your issue of the 25th inst., on the subject of the approach to the Le Bon's Bay track, Mr Duxbury has used my name and Mr Piper's in the most unjustifiable manner, as he has not the slightest grounds for making the assertion which he did, namely that it was unfair of us, as Mr Lyons' agents, to take advantage of an error in judgment in the preparation of the sale plan of Mr Inman's property. To prove that this is totally untrue, Mr Wilkin, who surveyed the property, and prepared the sale plan, states most distinctly that there was no error in the preparation of that plan, which plainly shows the old road does not exist thereon, and when Mr Wilkin pointed out to me the boundaries of the property as purchased there was no statement made by him that the old track to Le Bon's Bay went through it, nor was it possible for him to have donessto t as he thoroughly understood from Mr Inman that the Koad Board had agreed to take the ■old road for the new one, and believing that there would be no repudiation of this agreement, Mr Inman instructed Mr Wilkin to prepare the sale plan, and from that plan the property was purchased, so how Mr Duxbury can construe that there was anything unfair in this transaction, I am quite at a loss to understand.

Yours, &c, JAMES F. ROBERTS.
