Marquis, imported from Victoria, bred by J. Brown, Esq,Preston Hall, Lower Plenty, by Prince Charlie (imported), and out of Mr Brown's celebrated mare Old Jean, winner of eleven First Prizes, and was never beaten. Marquis lias gained fourteen First Prizes, and four Second Prizes in Victoria, and since he was imported to Otago he has gained three First and five Second Prizes. Webb, Esq., at Riccarton. He is a . rich dark brown, standing 1G hands high, with immense bone and substance ; and for make and shape has been pronounced by the best judges as hard to beat anywhere. Terms: —£5 5s for the season per mare ; Groomage, ss, payable on first service. In every five mares, property of same owners, one will be given in. Special terms made for two or more mares, also for guarantees. YOUNG TRADUCER will Travel Tai Tapu, Little River, to Akaroa, the Bays, and Head of the Bay, Lyttelton, and will also stand one day in the week at Mr Sunckell's Stables, Akaroa.
