Marquid, imported from Victoria, bred by J, Brown, Esq,Preston Hall, Lower Plenty, by Prince Charlie (imported), and out of Mr Brown's celebrated mare Old Jean, winner of eleven First Prizes, and was never beaten. Marquis has gained fourteen First Prizes, and four Second Prizes in Victoria, and since he was imported to Otago he has gained three First and five Second Prizes. LORD CLYDE will be in Pigeon Bay on Mondays ; in Okain'a Bay on Tuesdays ; and at O'Reilly's Livery Stsbles the rest of the Week. As a three-year-old he took First Prize at the Tasmanian Pastoral Association's Show, and since that time he has taken First Prize in his class and against all comers at the Banks Peninsula Pastoral Association's Shows in 1876 and 1877, Pedigree. ECLAT, by Camden, out of Prestige, by Premier (imp.); ,out of Shiel-na-Guira, by Rory O'More (imp.); but of Nora Creina (imp.); Camden, by Warhawk (imp.); out of Calliope, by _3_*ther (imp.); out of Cassandra, by Tross (imp.); out of Alice Grey, by Emigrant (imp.); out of Gulnare (imp.) ECLAT is closely related to Dagworth, The Barb. Yattendon, and Maid of" All Work ; the latter won over £2000 in stakes, and, like Eclat, is out of a Premier mare. King Phillip, by Camden, out of a daughter of Shiel-na-Guira, is nearly full brother to Eclat, and won several races in New Zealand ; and, lastly, Eclat is closely related to the celebrated horse of the day—-Chester. ECLAT, from his stout breeding, fine action, great bone and superior constitution, is calculated to produce stock fit for the Turf or Road, and must prove a desirable cross. Terms—£s 5s each mare. Widening 30 chains (more or less) of the Wainui Beach Road, from old .School House to Jetty, also, Rebuilding Bridge near Perham's gate. 2. Widening, Grading, and Culverting 20 Chains (more or less) of the Wainui Valley Road, from Bates' to Watkins' Bridge. 3. Forming, Grading, &c, 25 Chains (more or less) Purple Peak Road, from flag pole at McDonald's sliprail downwards to peg 25 at the edge of clearing. 4. Forming and Grading 8 chains (more or-less) Office Road, Duvauchelle's Bay, from Beach Road to beyond stable. M Specifications to be seen at the Road Board Office, Duvauchelle's Bay, on and after Monday, the 7th instant.
