Pate a, Sept; 21. John M'Lean, the cook of Fraser Tregear's party at the Momahaki block, was found dead on Thursday. It was believed that he had slipped down the steep bank ; but it was afterwards found that powder and bullets liml been stolen from the tent, and at the inquest to-day a bullet was found in the man's head, which leaves little doubt but that lie was murdered.
