THE LATE CONCERT.
To the Editor of the Akaroa Mail
Dear Sir, —You will excuse me, as a stranger to Akaroa, giving my opinion of the disgraceful conduct of some of the audience at the Church of England entertainment. I have attended similar entertainments in this and the adjoining colonies, and never have I seen and heard such gross violations of good taste and manners. I was pleased to see the action taken by a gentleman present, and commend him for putting a partial stop to the nuisance. The "goosing" of an amateur performer shews a state of feeling which is a disgrace to the community; but I for one, hope that any performer on the occasion will not be deterred from again appearing in public.—Yours, &c, A COMMERCIAL.
