LITTLE RIVER TOWNSHIP.
0 . 'To the Editor of the Akaroa Mail. Sir, —Having noticed a letter in the Press of the 10th inst., stating that what is wanted over there is a central Township, I may inform " Progress " that there is a Government reserve situated between the Okute and the Main valley, and I have been told that it is the intention of the Government to have a suitable Township laid off there which is the proper place as any one must know who is at all conversant with the district. As. theie is a good road now being made up tbe French Farm spur and leading down the Okute Valley that line, will be greatly used by horsemen as it is a much shorter road to the plains and as the question of which line the Railway will take from Little River to Akaroa is still an open one it would be madness starting to build as yet oa the supposed Township on the Puaho. Yours, &c, MATAI. A
