/On Thursday last Mr C. W. Bridge held . a sale of stock at the Head of the Bay saleyards. There was a fair attendance. 17 sheep, about 60 head of cattle, and 8 horses, were yarded. The sheep realised 7s each, 14 heifers were sold at £5 ss. Cows fetched £5 2s Gd, £6 ss, £6 12s 6d, £7 15s, and £8 7s 6d. One draught colt was disposed of at £9 10s. After the sale .of stock, the hurdle?, sheep-pens, &c, the property of the Banks Peninsula Pastoral Association were sold, the pens realising ..£ls. FROM THE LYTTELTON TIMES. Christchurch, Friday Evening. GRAIN AND PRODUCE. More activity has lately marked the export market, and considerable shipments are being made in fulfilment of orders, and on consignment. This season has seen more of the last description of business than any hitherto. The low freights obtainable for some time past without a doubt have influenced a good many ventures. The Waikato cleared for London on Wednesday with, amongst other cargo, 4083 sacks wheat. Potatoes are not coming to hand as quickly as wanted, and prices have stifI'eued. Growers look for an advance on present rates. We quote 47s 6d to 50s. i'Lour. remains about the same, with only .■■ moderate demand. Bran and sharps are iirilcult to get and fetch good rates. Oatmeal has seen some business at £20 :.-. £21.
