STOCK AND STATIONS.
During the past week there has been a succession of severe frosts, which will have the effect of forcing graziers to depend almost entirely on their root crops and straw stack to keep their stock up in condition, as withjthe generally hard season we have had there is little or no feed left for pasture. At Addington on Wednesday 8238 sheep, 235 head of cattle, and 271 pigs were yarded for the week. In fat sheep there was a large over supply for trade requirements, consequently a large proportion passed into the hands of boilers, which relieved the market considerably. As compared with the previous week's market, there was a decided fall in prices. Mutton may ba quoted at to ljd for boiling, butchers' sheep from 2d to 2£d. Beef was also in over supply, and Bales were with difficulty effected at from 24s to 25s Gd per lOOlbs, some lines of really prime, cattle being passed in. Pigs.—The bulk of those yarded being in good condition, made from 3d to 3id per lb for bacon. Store stock of every description very dull of sale, vendors only submitting to prices offered in consequence of having no feed to hold on.
