PIGEON BAY SUMMIT ROAD.
* —'■'. ''■ -v f ; •'.:*-• - To ihe Editor of .the Alcaroa Mail. Sir,—ln your issue of to-day appears a report of a meeting of the and Wainui Road Board, held on Saturday last. As Chairman of. the Qb.unty Council I attended in order ,thaf sundry matters, in which both Council and Board are interested, might-be explained, and tbe progress of public business promoted. After waiting one hour I left, being told that only a formal meeting would be held Tin's arrangement appears afterwards to have been altered, and my name is mentioned as having promised land on the Summit road free of charge. I am exceedingly surprised at such an assertion. The matter has been mentioned to me only once, to which' I replied that I would not be obstructive. Yours, &c, E. C. LATTER. May 28,1878.
