A heavy south-west gale has been blowing . since about midnight. The W. C. Wentworth broke adrift from her moorings, and drove the Omaha and Enterprise, brigantine6, on the breastwork. All three vessels are considerably damaged. The gale shows an indication of taking off now. ... Dtjndin, May 16. The northern hue of railway from Moeraki to Palmerston will be opened for traffic on Tuesday next. It is expected that communication between Christchurch and Dunedin will be established on the 25th.
