CRICKET.
Little Rivkb v. Mount Herbert. On Good Friday a match was played on the beach flat, between the boys of Little River, and those of Gebbie's Valley and Mourn Herbert. The game was well played, the little River boys being beaten by 4 runs. J. Ham. of Mount Herbert, scored the largest number of runs, 26, and W. Reynolds, of Little River, was second with 25. On Monday, the 22nd inst., a return match was plaj'ed between these clubs on the same ground. The Little River team was captained by J. Radford, and that of Mount Herbert by A. Reeves. Mr H. E. Tyson acting as umpire for the ''Little River Pigeons," and Mr Radford senr., for the " Mount Herbert Hawks." By 1-I'-o'ctdck air "the players had aesembleion. the ground, but ■each party had relied on their opponents being provided with wickets, .vlu'eh were therefore unprovided. This involved considerable delay so that the game did not begin till 12 o'clock. As this would not admit of two innings it was resolved that one innings should determine the match. Bodie, not out, 0 ; byes, 9 ; total, 60. Little River.—H. Reynolds, c H. Manson. b T. Radford, 0 ; H. Buchanan, b T. Radford, 3; J. Radford, l> E. Radford, 2 ; Joseph Reynolds, bA. Reeves, 5 ; G. Sefton, b W. Reeves, 26 ; J. Leney, l> T. Radford, 12 ; S. Reeves, b W. Reeves, 4 ; F. Bracey, cJ. Gebbie, b T. Radford, G ; J. Tj-son, b A Reeves, 9 ; W. Reynolds, not out, 5,• byes, 14 ; leg-byes, 4 ; wide balls, 4; total 94. A good deal of smartness was displayed by some of the players on each side, and the fielding of the Little River players was very good. The game being finished, the players all repaired to the Beach Arms, where the host had provided a substantial dinner.
