Wellington, March 18. A Gazette extraordinary to-night contains a proclamation further postponing the next, meeting of Parliament to Thursday, 21st May next. Mr Stout was sworn in as AttorneyGeneral to-day, Government having deputed the neceessary power for that purpose to Messrs Macaudrew and Ballance. Nelson. March 18. In the District Court this morning, before Judge Ward, Florence Joseph pleaded guilty to a charge of indecent assault, and was sentenced to six years' penal servitude. Hokitika, March 18. The Bank of New Zealand has issued a warrant for the arrest of Homer, agent for the bank at Ross, for the embezzlement of £111. Dunedin, March 18. After the Judge's summing up in Jones' case, the jury retired, and after half an hour's deliberation, brought in a verdict of not guilty, and the accused was discharged.
