By the San Francisco mail, Mr G. Scarbrongh received intelligence of the death, in Honolulu, of Dr. H. Pearde, lately of Akaroa. During Ills lesidence here, Dr Pearde was well and universally respected. He was one of the most energetic of the originators of Good Tetnplarism on Banks Peninsula, assisting as he did in the foundation of some of the lodges. As a Mason, the deceased doctor was very zealous, being one of the founders of the Lodge Akaroa. Dr Peard only arrived at Honolulu by the December mail steamer, so that his life was not long spared to him there. We understand from Mr Scarbrough that the deceased was buried by the Masonic fraternity according to their ancient ritual and practice. The deceased gentleman leaves a widow and one child.
