The question of the malappropriation of the Church of England Cemetery funds has not yet been satisfactorily explained. Mr Wagstaff's letter merely answers for a recent borrowing from that fund for the purpose of seating those who might attend the services and occupy the new part of St Peter's Church. This, however, is not sufficient, and while attempting to explain the extent of, and provide for, one wrong, the church officials quietly ignore the question of a former and greater instance where money, belonging to the church it is allowed, but especially appropriated to the Cemetery, its proper maintenance, keep, &c, has been borrowed for other purposes, and there is, we understand, no record of either its expenditure, or any proof that it has been repaid. It is this sura which, in the interests of the members of the Church to whom the reserve in question belongs, we desire to see accounted for.
