Roman Catholics are doing considerable colonizing in Texas. The number of Christian missionaries in India is said to be GOO. During his long reign, the Pope has founded 130 Bishoprics. Moody's meetings in Providence, R. 1., commenced December 2nd. In 1867 there were 194 Congregational churches in , the State of New York. There are now 250. The first Sunday school in America was founded in 1814, in Farmingham, Massachusetts. The statistics of Congregationalism show a gain in three years of 184 churches, the present number being 3509. The Catholics have in Germany and German Austria 308 periodicals, of which 1,918,000 copies sire circulated. It is said th.it the property of the con vents in the single city of Bordeaux, France, amounts to nearly £20,000,000. About thirty churches of Springfield, Mass., and its vicinity have invited Moody to work with them during next February.
