(From the Press Agency.) Wellington, Jan. 31. Market quotations—Flour, colonial, £14 to £15 10s ; hams, 0d ; bacon, 8d ; cheese, full supply, ; potatoe*, new, £6 per ton ; butter. 7d. A good deal of curiosity has been e-vinced as to Barton's condition and treatment as a prisoner. It appears that his treatment will be strictly that of a prisoner committed for trial. He will not be subjected to hard lapour, but will only be allowed the ordinary prison fare, or if his wife or any friends wish to see him, an order must be obtained from a visiting. Justice. Alexandria, Jan. 31. There will be no meeting to-day. Lower Waikatos, with canoes to escort Grey and Shechan having only just arrived here. Te Whakanui and party from Mokau hourly expected. There is a large assembly of natives at Kopu. No reporters are to be present at the meeting with Tawhino.
