TO THE EDITOR OF THE AKAROA MAIL.
Sir, —I must complain that your reporter has very much misrepresented me, when he says that I was surprised at something the larrikins had done, to wit, putting a boat on my lawn. He could not possibly have misrepresented me more. No foolish thing they could do, would surprise me. But to see their superfluous energy directed to some useful purpose, would undoubtedly cause myself and others unlimited surprise.
